Lake GhodaGhodi, Kailali (An Introduciton)

Lake Ghoda Ghodi, one of the most beautiful lakes in whole Far Western Region of Nepal. It is situated in Kailali District at Sukhad V.D.C. This lake is very beautiful and can be considered as a perfect creation of nature. The good thing is that, it is just on the Mahendra Highway, so this lake has very easy acccess.
The lake has got its name from the name of the temple situated on the lake. The temple is of the Goddess Ghoda Ghodi and the lake is named so.

During the festival of Sivaratri (one of the popular festivaof Nepal)
many people from different part of Nepal as well from India come and gather here to worship and get blessed. In the same time different types of cultural items are also prepared and sold there. People also get married on this day in this sacred place. The pligrims who come here for praying offer money in the lake. The money offered in the lake are picked up by the local children in a special way which can be observed in the picture posted here. At first i thought they were fishing in the lake. But it was a real shok for me when the reality came in front of me. Actually those were their strategies to pick out the money (dollar) offered in the lake. Actually they had tied a magnet at the end of the rope and used that magnet to attract the dollar from the lake. I really appreciated them for this grand technique.

This lake is very attractive from every angle when you come here and see. The eye catching scenario of the reflection of the forest on the lake makes everybody feel with unbound joys. Different types of aquatic creatures has made this lake their home.
Overall this lake is very beautiful and important from natural and scientific point of view. This lake is waiting for the help form the devoted person for its consevation and care.
